Howard Buffett: Slowing Gaining Global Homeboy Status
Sat, October 24, 2009
dusk in Limpopo, South AfricaThe biggest news we learn about Howard Buffett in the just-posted online NYTimes article is that he intends to sell his 6,000 acres of bush in Limpopo Province, along with the animals running wild on it. Buffett will try to relocate his cheetahs Orion and Titan.
Letting go of his Limpopo property completes his evolution from a Traditional, very rich man, whose testosterone levels elevated in his enthusiasm for cheetahs, polar bears and mountain gorillas to one committed to the lives of the poorest people in the world.
For all his smart-alecky quips, Howard Buffett is gravely concerned about the future of the planet’s people. He does not calll himself as “hopeful” as he once was, and these themes emerge in every interview and the few stories about Buffett.
The NYTimes reminds us that Cultural Creative Howard Buffett has a very low Internet profile. For better or worse, Howard Buffett and Anne of Carversville are married in Google search, and I’m not letting go easily.
I do avoid dragging him into the sexy talk whenever possible, knowing what happens in Google image search. But reading that Howard has always had both a bulldozer and a Corvette in his life, I think he’s got a lot of prairie hell-raiser in him … along with an emotional heart and sensitive, photographer’s eye.

Meanwhile, Howard Buffett is our favorite Smarty Pants guy, because we love watching his transformation. While I don’t have his money, coming from the Midwest and understanding Buffett’s values and upbringing, I understand his transformation into a global citizen. Me, too. Anne
