Following Charlie Rose on Twitter today does nothing to minimize the fact that I missed one of our favorite people, Howard Buffett Friday night.
The video is posted now, and we’re working on a writeup.
Howard is quoted as saying that we Americans are winners of the ovarian lottery. We did nothing to deserve being born here, rather than any number of other places in the world.
This is exactly my point about why we must care what about the human condition. But for the grace of ?? go I.
As Bill and Melinda Gates remind us, every life counts equally. Listening to Hward Buffett speak, it’s clear that he feels the same way about the human condition.
Howard talks about his book: Fragile: The Human Condition.The book is an effort to move conversations about global conversations beyond the intellect to creating emotional connection.

I did not know that the Buffetts — traditional Midwesterners — had an unusual marriage. Those details are omitted here as irrelevant, but I’ll flush them out over in Smart Sensuality.
