Women's Rights and the Sperm Fight in Jerusalem

http://bit.ly/9cxgxA

Anne here, having one of my ‘trying to make sense of the world’ moments. Gentically-bred red-head and green-head sperm have me thinking about the endless fighting in Jerusalem.

Scientists have known for some time that sperm fight unmercifully — much like gladiators — to be the ONE to fertilize the eggs of fruit flies and most living creatures on our planet.  The act of procreation is brimming with violence and male sperm fighting to be the winner in an evolutionary battle.

The vision that John and Oko had of civilized beings having a love fest in bed — here captured by artist Tim MacPherson via Voyons Voir — isn’t possible, if man never gets beyond being a sperm-head.

Artist Tim MacPhersonIs it a coincidence that as humans got smarter, women lost their rights?

Formerly, I saw men as the hunters, the builders, the smart guys trying to triumph over nature and death.  I was reluctant to make the evolution of civilization merely about the acquisition of property and men acting like sperm heads, because they don’t give birth.

Women remind men of their mortality; we get in the way, being grounded in nature when men often try to escape nature and dominate her.

Now I’m not so certain. To control property, you must control procreation. Otherwise, how do we know whose sperm won? Perhaps I’ve been over thinking how we got to this mess in Israel and Palestine.

Most Global Conflict Points To Jerusalem

Artist Tim MacPhersonI dated a very rich guy not too long ago, as the stock market was falling faster than a meteorite. Of course Wall Street is a jungle, but when my friend spoke of throwing a chair at someone in the middle of a tense negotiation, once again I had to face the music that money is only so important to me in life.

This struggle for wealth and accomplishment vs an acute awareness of pain and poverty has always maintained a delicate balance in my mind.

Mr. Rich and I always discussed the same subjects: expensive New York apartments, Old Master paintings and inheritance. When I moved our conversations onto the world stage, his response was “kill the bastards.”  I couldn’t help connecting these conversations with the flying chair, which admittedly became a missile in my mind.

For a woman who loves testosterone in me and men, I found this vision of Wall Street a deeply disturbing one.

I’m smart enough not to view America the youngster, as the culprit in this drama. We’re easy to blame, but any thinking person knows the roots of global problems go much deeper … into the sands of the Middle East and maybe beyond.

I don’t have an opinion yet about Africa 4000 years ago. Or Latin America. China and India appear much more favorable than the Middle East at this time, at least for women.

Women, Dolphins, Elephants All Go To the Slaughter House

There are no rose-colored glasses on my nose, in examining this subject. Perhaps women were destined to be overpowered everywhere on the planet. Perhaps we are like dolphins, destined for slaughter and good eating, in spite of our high IQs.

So how did men manage to get final and ultimate control of reproduction? I believe the answer lies in Jerusalem, which is now the focus of all my reading and research.

There’s perhaps no more patriarchal symbol in the world, than in Jerusalem.

Many chairs have flown there over the years. Is there a more violent city on earth? I honestly don’t know, but my instincts tell me the answers of how we got into this mess of a world take me to Jerusalem.  Anne
