Trust me when I write that Dr. George Rekers, a Christian anti-gay leader has welts on his bottom, if he’s listened to Rachel Maddow weight in on his seedy trip away for 10-days with bought boy-toy Lucien. Rekers denies the trip was unsavoury in any way. Rather he was on a mission of mercy.
We’re tracking the unfortunate, gaining momentum story of the co-founder of the Family Research Council and his companion procured from Rentboy.com.
My backbone bristles yet again, reading the details of the credentialed George Rekers’ public statements on homosexuality, family values and good parenting.
Like so many other citizens of the world in every culture and religion, I’ve come to the conclusion that he — and occasionally she — who protests so much about morality issues is almost always the ones ‘with the problem’.
Struggling with their own sensual urges, and some that are outside the norm, the morality police deride their own sensations and clamp down on the rest of us, assuming that we, too, are dominated by unbridled salacious desires.
Note that my comments don’t apply to any sensual subject that involves children, except to suggest that those who scream the loudest about child pics on the Internet should probably check in with their own psychiatrists at once.
We already know that Conservatives and highly Biblical states are the largest consumers of erotic material on the Internet. Are they also the biggest homophobes?
Reading the details of Father Marcial Maciel’s The Legionaries of Christ, a man who was a dictator in governing the sensuality of everyone around him, yet flaunted every rule of the Catholic Church including having children out of wedlock, I think of all the people he made sick and miserable before finally being taken out of business by the Vatican.
It very difficult challenging someone who is the darling of Pope John II. George Rekers, too, surrounds himself with high-minded propriety and lofty condemnation of the rest of us. Rekers regularly testifies before Congress on family issues, and as Rachel Maddow tells us in her blistering bruising of George Rekers’s bottom, he recently sent a letter on children and homosexuality to every school in America.
While Dr. George Rekers denies that Lucien administered sexual massages ‘below the belt’ as he told the Miami newspapers, and Rekers insists that he was only trying to ‘cure’ Lucien in their time away together, his words ring very hollow especially after a second male escort has come forward to Gawker, claiming that he was paid by Rekers for light touching. (Read end of article update.)
One of the reasons the northern Europeans especially — but Europeans in general — find the Americans so hypocritical is that in measure after measure, they have fewer social problems than we do.
