Macaroons & Cupcakes Make Love Not War

French macarons are one of the sublime pleasures in life, and I have consumed many of the ones pictured above from Ladurée in Paris. Secretly, my favorite is pistachio.

For certain I will write more words about this WSJ story Mon Dieu! Will Newfound Popularity Spoil the Dainty Macaron?

Unlike WSJ, my love of macaroons — The French, including Ladurée, use macaroon— is so profound that I’ve made these decadent sweets a road to world peace.

After watching a long program on history of the Middle East last night — with a focus on Mesopotamia to modern-day Iraq — I’m further convinced that only women, cupcakes and macaroons will save the world.

Men have shredded human existence for thousands of years, as if people were cole slaw or worse yet — beef jerky. In the name of almighty rulers and God, too, there’s been no place for the humanizing influence of macaroons or cupcakes in power.

For the survival of the human species, macaroons, cupcakes — and perhaps baklava — must assume primary positions as diplomatic tools.

It’s worth celebrating louder the fact that cupcakes have come to Jordan. Let me repeat that I wish to launch a global campaign based on cupcakes — or macaroons — for poor women, as our only hope of saving human civilization.

I’m very serious about the ‘Cupcake Calendar Girls’, and I need sponsors. Anne
