Charlize Theron kisses the winning bidder during a charity auction in San Francisco Charlize Theron got plenty irked at a recent fundraiser for the ONEXONE charity dinner in San Francisco.
When a resourceful woman is not raising enough money with a trip to Theron’s South Africa, tickets to the World Cup soccer games and an opportunity to meet Nelson Mandela, she considers all her options.
Dismayed that her auction item only solicited $37,000 in bets, the blond screen goddess wasn’t about to be totally run over by actor Jeremy Piven’s $280,000 tally for a walk-on role in his hit TV show Entourage.
In this case, sex did sell. Theron switched gears and auctioned off a kiss with her, initially envisioning a seven-second smooch. As the bidding moved into high gear, the lips offered more precious time for more money. The kiss appeared sealed at 20 seconds and $130,000 with a male attendee.
And then, another blond entered the picture — a wealthy, blond woman who ponied up $140,000 for the kiss. Theron promptly sealed the deal with cameras flashing wildly. As for her long-time boyfriend Stuart Townsend, he wasn’t in the audience.
When it comes to raising money for ONEXONE’s global kids in need, a clever woman uses all her resources … within the limits of respectability and propriety, of course.
