Small Town Aryanna Strader Voters Like Cupcake Liners, Too

The Spittin’ Sister in PA is reading Politico’s Op Ed piece “Fighting dirty against women” by Barbara Lee.

Let’s hope it’s not a precursor of how Joe Pitts will handle Aryanna Strader when he wakes up and sees that she is a serious contender for PA 16th district House seat.
Lee writes about the debate swirling around Mass senate candidate Elizabeth Warren’s heritage — does she have American Indian blood and did she try to capitalize on being a minority to get her position at Harvard? (Read on at WomenPatriots.org.)
These cheap shots are designed to knock women off our pedestals, where voters consider women generally to be higher integrity candidates.
As SOTP wrote yesterday, today’s women are hip to the strategy — and that’s not just New York City women or ones from LA.
We could have led this recipe for Blackberry peach crumb topped muffins with the classic peach and blackberry photo from Picky Cook on Facebook, as we’ve done here.

But no — we chose the one with cupcake swirl muffin liners.

Too sophisticated, you say? Small town folks don’t need muffin liners for their peach crumble muffins. All we cay say is that Picky Cook is from Minnesota and this muffin recipe is from the Blue Heron Coffee House.

Pretty sophisticated little coffee house in small town America — the Blue Heron.
“The driving force behind the Blue Heron Coffeehouse has always been our passion for providing good food and service to our community. With our large repertoire of recipes, culinary adventurism and commitment to quality we are able to offer a diversity of menu items that promote food that is local, seasonal and organically grown. We also advocate for sustainability and bio-diversity and cultivate a sense of community and a gathering space to support local growers, artists and musicians.”
Sure sounds like Ayranna’s 16th Pennsylvania district to us — the point being that even small town America is responding to progressive ideas around food and community.
I’m in the mood to try something new this morning. We’re all here in Spittin’ Out the Pitts in an effort to move Aryanna Strader’s candidacy on to the national stage.
Yours truly is reaching out to the Blue Heron Coffeehouse in Winona, Minnesota, asking them to create a food gift from Minnesota to Lancaster, PA — a special recipe for Aryanna’s campaign.
Let’s show the mostly men of both parties, that American women want the politics of personal destruction out of our kitchens and out of our voting booths.
