Esther Canadas | '3' Women' | Michel Comte | Vogue Italia November 2001

When this November 2001 Vogue Italia editorial ‘3 Women’, lensed by Michel Comte, styled by Sara Maino and featuring Esther Canadas, was released, the world was reeling in the aftermath of the terrorists’ attacks in New York and Washington.

Comment from fashion_screen today: “Very popular theme in the beginning of zeroes, not really popular now, but I guess lots of women reading that community are daydreaming of being her.”  images scanned via FrenchBox

The title ‘3 Women’ also features Helena Christensen and Eva Herzigova, with each model having about 20-25 images in the original feature.

This editorial articulates beautifully the ethical quandary many Modern women transitioning into a new values mindset that we call Smart Sensuality were experiencing even before Sept. 11.

Someone needs to tell the diamond-encrusted, bombshell bra folks about this important evolution. The brand is unfortunately stuck in the Modern values ditch and we must help dig them out, showing them the way to prosperity.

It’s a bit like listening to John McCain rail against gays in the military and asking for more troops in Afghanistan. There is such a situation as a zero-sum game, and Modern values people continue to play it. Anne
