The Baths of Trajan were built on Rome’s Oppian Hill starting in 104AD and were dedicated in 109. The architect of the complex is said to be Appollodorus of Damascus. The baths were used as a recreational and social center by both men and women until Rome was under seige by the Goths in 537.
