Kate Moss | Steven Klein | W Magazine March 2012 | 'Good Kate, Bad Kate'

In another breathtaking Steven Klein editorial, the artist turns his lens to Kate Moss for ‘Good Kate, Bad Kate’, the cover story for W magazine’s March issue, styled by Edward Enninful. I read another blogger groaning over the lack of originality in cover messages and Kate’s images around the ‘fashion bible’ theme and ‘divine style’ for all. I say keep it coming.

In case you live under a rock, the Republican War on Women has escalated to new highs in America this week, moving from the abortion wars into contraception. I called this reality three years ago, and all the Republican gremlins, accompanied by the Catholic bishops, are out in full force this week.

In the seventies, fashion was political. It’s time for the industry to understand that women’s lives are under assault and the industry needs to pull its weight on the issue. So thanks Kate, Steven, Edward and W for delivering a superb masterpiece that calls out brilliantly the contradictions of women’s lives, when the focus is sensuality, physicality and spirituality. Anne

PS: I think the bored blogger is a misogynist, so I understand why he’s so ‘over’ these biblical-themed editorials. Let the daily news drive the editorial decisions, and there’s no ambiguity there around intention and hopes for American women.  As I’ve always said Controlling Women’s Bodies Is A Fight To the Finish.
