PETA to America: 'I Want to Talk to You. Here's Some Free Eye Candy!"

Anne here. It’s true that PETA is out on thin ice with this video. I won’t defend it, but I will also confirm that politics, business, activism and porn intersect with increasing frequency. While we don’t have ‘porn’ here at Anne of Carversville, I have decided to no longer separate my consulting biz from this website.

As a key exec with Victoria’s Secret for 10 years and a consultant to lingerie brands and financial institutions investing in sexy products — from cars to vibrators — I’ve watched fashion media become increasingly daring in their use of nudity, especially in Europe.

I see French Vogue and sophisticated media leading us back into a state of eroticism, vs. pure porn. I understand that many women find this approach offensive. I won’t criticize it, depending on its execution.

Just last week, I posted global women’s Internet search statistics, and I know that we speak out of both sides of our mouths on this topic. Women hate the word ‘porn’. But we search as aggressively as men for erotica online, with some pretty astonishing statistics.

Before the Conservative morality police jumps all over us, let me state cetegorically that Conservatives consume more porn. I just located the study and will republish it this week.  The research is not answers to questions, but a search of IP addresses. Of course, Conservatives say they hate porn, and the rest of us are disgusting.
