Cirque du Soleil OVO | Insects in Love + Lust

I met up with OVO, posting a photo of these lips, created by makeup artist Julie Begin for photographer Alex Beauchesne.

With our focal point of sensuality clarified in my mind, it’s simply amazing how these seemingly unrelated categories undulate over each other like waves.

Cirque du Soleil’s OVO, an immersion into the teeming and energetic world of insects, is playing in New York, under the Big Top at Randall’s Island Park. The show opens in Hartford on June 17, 2010 before moving to Boston, DC, and Atlanta.

As always, the Cirque du Soleil show has some love lust, when a gawky, quirky insect arrives in this bustling community and a fabulous ladybug catches his eye. I’m not sure if this is beauty and the beast territory, but the feeling is mutual between gawky and fabulous.
