Voter Engagement Remains High, If Down From 2008 | Joe Walsh Thinks Tammy Walsh Not a True Hero

French Roast News

Anne is reading …

Five months before Election Day, voter engagement generally equals or surpasses levels from the four presidential campaigns prior to 2008 — a watershed year, reports Pew Research. Much is made of the fact that voter interest has declined since the Obama-McCain race four years ago. The fact that with the exception of 2008, voter interest surpasses all campaign since 1992 promises a significant turnout.

2012 Senate Races

Not only is the presidential election a close race, but top Senate races are also tightening up writes Politico.

A surprise race is North Dakota North Dakota where Democrat Heidi Heitkamp is running an “artful campaign”. In Massachusetts Elizabeth Warren and Sen. Scott Brown are in a dead heat.

Think Progress has the video in which Walsh, who is $100,000 behind in child support to his ex-wife and failed to show up in court, says that his opponent Tammy Duckworth is such a showoff when she enters a room in a wheelchair.

Spittin’ Out the Pitts

Spittin’ Out The Pitts on Facebook

The Spittin’ Sisters shared a recipe for Watermelon Frosty in honor of tomorrow being Independence day in America. The Sisters devoted this watermelon, banana and touch of cayenne pepper drink to the women of Lancaster’s District 16, and the men who love them.

It’s soon Fourth of July in America, and let’s all make a watermelon frosty that’s dedicated to freedom from Joe Pitts and his horrific war on women’s bodies. Tomorrow, we demand personhood for American women.

The vast majority of Americans push back on personhood amendments, but that doesn’t stop Rep Joe Pitts from pushing the argument that fertilized eggs should be equal Constitutional rights to a grown woman with children, an adoring husband and career. The two are equal in his political playbook.

Personhood Attempt Fails in Ohio

ABC News reports that the attempt to put a perhood amendment on the ballot in Ohio this November has failed. The supporters of personhood collected only about 30,000 of the roughly 385,000 required to put personhood on the ballot.

Supporters fell short of the required number of signatures to qualify for the November ballots in Nevada and California. And in Oklahoma, the state’s highest court halted an amendment effort there to grant personhood rights to human embryos, saying the measure was unconstitutional.

Voters rejected personhood in Mississipi last November, although Republican lawmakers tried to introduce it again as a state law in 2012. Note that a federal judged moved yesterday to block Mississippi’s sole abortion clinic.
