Forty-nine other countries of the world do better than the US at keeping new mothers alive. Yes, America ranks 50th in the world in maternal deaths.

Even though the US spends $98 billion annually on pregnancy and childbirth, the death rate for America’s new mothers has doubled in the last 25 years and is equal to that of Saudi Arabia. Read on at Huffington Post.
