Penelope Cruz | Mario Testino | 'The Dream Life of Penélope Cruz' | Vogue US June 2011

Spanish actress Penelope Cruz radiates total gorgeosity in an all Dolce & Gabbana style editorial for US Vogue. Lensed by Mario Testino, Penelope is drawing huge compliments about her radiant beauty in these images.

Cruz’s looks come from her genetic good looks, a new marriage to old beau Javier Bardem and the birth of their son Leonardo.

“I was pregnant and a pirate,” Cruz says. “A beautiful experience.”

The Spanish actress Penelops Cruz is referring to her current role in the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie called ‘On Stranger Tides’. The blockbuster film stars actor Johnny Depp again as Captain Jack Sparrow.

“A lot of things can be said about this creature Penélope Cruz,” Depp says. “None of them are bad.” He calls her a “one-off,” “magnificent,” and “magical.”

“She’s the dysfunctional Bacall to my twisted Bogart,” Depp continues. “She’s the otherworldly Scarlett to my clueless Rhett. She’s the… .” He pauses. “Well, she’s Ricky to my Lucy.”

The Oscar-winning Vicky Cristina Barcelona star has long been passionate about kids’ causes. When she was 22, Cruz worked as a volunteer at one of Mother Teresa’s orphanages in Calcutta, India.

“It changed the way I see the world,” Cruz tells Vogue. “Even if you were aware of children and felt compassion, when you have your own, it multiplies. It breaks your heart to know that there are so many children in the world suffering so much.”

Cruz supports U2 rocker Bono’s (Red) project to benefit Aids sufferers in Africa, and Sean Penn’s efforts to rebuild Haiti following the devastating earthquake of January, 2010.
