Sarah Burton | Fabian Baron | Interview March 2012

Karl Templer showcased the Spring 2012 Alexander McQueen collection in a Sarah Jessica Parker interview with Creative Director Sarah Burton for the March issue. Fabian Baron captures the faceless creatures who symbolize the McQueen woman.
“There’ll always be a McQueen woman. She is a strong woman and she is a powerful woman, and when she puts a McQueen jacket on, she feels different. The way she stands is different. The way she moves is different. It’s almost like the clothes are slightly empowering. There’s this emotion that goes into the clothes.” — Sarah Burton
Burton shares that she brainstorms with Camilla Nickerson, the stylist she works with in creating the next season’s collection. After all the McQueen woman keeps pace with the world. She evolves. Burton also talks at length about preparing for last year’s Met Retrospective for Alexander McQueen.
