Rachel Horn & Justin Kriezel Reinvent Old Airstreams

For Burning Man, an Airstream Done Up in Moorish Splendor NYTimes

We’ve seen some Airstreams in life but nothing like the silver dune buggy designed by Rachel Horn, a Los Angeles interior designer, and her husband and business partner Justin Kriezel. The duo found the Airstream on Craigslist for $5,000, and then spent another $15,000 refurbishing the unit which now has a working kitchen and full bathroom.

The couple lives Los Angeles, where they have an interior design firm and a showroom for Rachel Horn Home, their furniture and accessories line, and also San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where they have another office and a retail store. See more images from the luxe Airstream.

Confession XVI: Rachel Horn The Confessionals

The Spirit of Mexico is thriving in Rachel Horn, whose design eye has everyone In LA’s design community buzzing.  Her work is imbued with a spiritual and warm-blooded understanding of luxury and romance that The words “Spanish Gold” help define her warm-blooded understanding  of luxury and romance. Her interiors are complex, elegant, comfortable, and spiritual. Horn uses the term ‘instant roots’ to describe the feeling of depth and history, which is the hallmark of a Rachel Horn home. LA Oro, a Top-of-the-Line Olive Oil, Hits the US from Spain NYTimes

Perhaps we are alone amongst AOC readers in not knowing the rules of good olive oil: Oxygen is the enemy of good olive oil, destroying the sensational taste of an olive oil within a month. LA Organic tries to solve this problem, producing 250-milliliter bottles of certified organic olive oil made from olives harvested in Andalucia and cold-pressed at the Almazaras de la Subbetica, an artisan mill outside of Córdoba.

LA Oro is a small-batch olive oil with well-known backers including the winemaker Michel Rolland. Philippe Starck is behind the graphics.  Selling for $18 for a 250-milliliter bottle, you can buy at Dean & Deluca or online.  LA Oro was recently included in the prestigious Flos Olei guide as one of the top 20 olive oils in the world.
