J'adore: Mover and Sheika Princess Sheika Lubna

A sheika is a sheik’s wife or daughter. Princess Sheika Lubna is a prima sheika, in her position as the first female foreign trade minister in the Middle East. Princess Lubna is the face of the United Arab Emirates, the most prominent emissary other than Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, the U.A.E.’s prime minister and ruler of Dubai.

The Princess is a woman, a high-stakes player who earned her role as power broker and deal maker between the U. A. E. and America.

Describing Princess Sheika Lubna, Portfolio Magazine says: Think Carly Fiorina meets Condoleezza Rice, with a touch of Oprah Winfrey.

Princess Lubna is the first Arab woman to create a multimillion-dollar e-commerce company in a region where women have traditionally played only bit roles in business. She’s also the first woman to become the economic minister of an oil-rich nation and the only cabinet minister anywhere to have her own perfume.

I adore successful women with heart, wherever they live in the world. Given the messed up state of the American economy,  and the U.A.E.’s $50 billion investment in America, we most likely owe this Middle Eastern wonder woman our gratitude.

Enjoy this read about how Princess Lubna walks a fine balance between East and West … staying true to her cultural roots while flying high in her talent, education, and confidence in being an entrepreneurial, Muslim woman.

Love,
Anne
