Thinking Big At Big Think
BigThink is a BigIdea website. It’s not TED, but taps into the same network of thinking people — you and me — wanting to use the Internet to become better informed humans, citizens, and neighbors.
In their own BigThink words:
Activating BrainPower
BigThink taps into my ideas about the next major evolution of the Internet and the idea of a curated experience.
The entire concept behind curation is that we all spend an incredible amount of time clicking links to nowhere, to outdated content — even on Google especially (you MUST check your dates on Google, because the material can be very outdated, as in no longer valid or true.
There’s a very democratic spirit on the Internet, which says that he or she who has the most readers, viewers, links or clicks must be the best source of information and opinion.
Not only do we not agree with that theory at Anne of Carversville, we recognize that everyone has a finite amount of time to spend online. Besides inspiring and entertaining you, we try to guide you in making good use of the valuable resource called YOU.
You can link to nowhere, read highly personalized, nonfactual, ill-informed rants, or you can tune into TED or a site like BigThink and have access to the best minds around the world. With these sites, you choose your subject of interest and get learning.
Big Think ExpertsWe vote for the latter online focus, without being judgemental about the former. We’re not the BiggestTinkers here at AnneofCarversville, but we know BigThink, when we see it in others.
Just take a minute to browse the expert offering and the learning channels on BigThink and you will appreciate its enormous potential.
As we always say when sending you off to a great competitor for your time … don’t forget about us! We’re scanning cyberspace in search of the next big find.
