Gypsy Girl's Guide Has the Moody Blues
I’m so glad that Alessandra de Souza stopped by yesterday. Her blog Gypsy Girl’s Guide is what I was searching for this minute … the balance blog against our recent posts and a bit of philosophy on a rainy New York day.
Simply stated, any friend of Maryam’s is a friend of mine. We met Gypsy Girl when Maryam acknowledged the fact that her beloved guest hotel Peacock Pavilions is temporarily derailed in this global financial crunch.
Arriving at GypsyGirl’sGuide just now, she, too. is a bit blue moody.
Let’s face it … these are trying times all the way around, and it’s worse than we understand. Hearing from a consultant friend last night that some of the nation’s biggest companies haven’t paid their bills in over six months is shocking … and impossibly hard on the little people.
GypsyGirl is a photographer, another Cultural Creative, bohemian globetrotter searching for inspiration and answers around the world. She captures some of these scenes in photographs, now sold in her Etsy shop. I smiled seeing this one . . . and her description of the ritualistic importance of flowers in Bali.
8” x 10”, $40 at Gypsy Girl’s Etsy shopFor my new readers, I had my own incredibly embarassing “flower ritual moment” in Bali.
As Gypsy Girl reminds us … smiles are free and full of endorphins. Even though Alessandra is a bit blue, she made me smile, stopping by her Etsy shop.
Posting the lyrics and sound to Yael Naim’s profound song, was a gift to the whole digital universe. With all this giving, we want Gypsy Girl to find her own middle of the highway, as she describes it. If her life is anything like mine these days, the “middle” may be exactly where she’s not looking.
