Self-taught Matthew Brookes was born in England, grew up in South Africa, and presently makes his home in Paris, where he’s been living for 8 years.
Matthew’s attitude towards photography in general is to keep things as natural and believable as possible while at the same time capturing the emotion and spirit of the person or people he is photographing. He gets most of his inspiration from everyday life and his interaction with others.
Matthew has shot advertising campaigns for Banana Republic (fragrances for men and women), Paco Rabanne (XS black for men and women), Burberry Black Label, Ermenegildo Zegna, Montblanc (fragrance), Bergdorf-Goodman, and Kenneth Cole. Magazine work includes French Vogue, Vanity Fair, Interview Magazine, Vogue Homme International, the New York Times (T Magazine), and Numero Hommes Magazine.
