Eye | Occupy Movement Music | Plastic Blight | Tetsuo Kondo's 'A Path in the Forest'

Forest Perspective

Now this is a walk in the woods! The incredibly beautiful “A Path in the Forest” by architect Tetsuo Kondo was a temporary installation in the Kadriorg Park near Tallinn, Estonia. This experience of communing with trees from an entirely different perspective was part of Tallinn’s 2011 European Capital of Culture series, one of 11 urban installations. via TCH

Plastic Blight

The Guardian writes that despite measures to promote recycling, discarded plastic continues to blight our planet.  And the problem isn’t only plastic.

Earlier this year, Austria-based environmental consultancy Denkstatt imagined such a world, where farmers, retailers and consumers use wood, tins, glass bottles and jars, and cardboard to cover their goods. It sounds like a better values-driven strategy, right? Unfortunately this packaging vision increased volume by 3.6 times, taking more than double the energy to make and generating almost 3 times the greenhouse gases.
