Coaster Gift Sets, Gift Card Earrings at Building Character, Lancaster Pa

I’m so very delighted to share the first photos of our ‘little GlamTribale shop’ at Building Character in Lancaster, PA. It’s located directly at the entrance into Building C and is one aisle away from our larger space that houses the majority of our GlamTribale jewelry.

Most of our 4/$25 coaster sets, individual coasters for $8, some planters at $95, gift cards with earring $25-$35 and $15 earrings are in this high traffic spot.

I share two more pictures and also the wonderful news that FINALLY, we’ve loaded our first 4/$25 coaster sets and gift cards with earrings $25-$35 onto the GlamTribale website. These are superb gifts that arrive priority mail in our eco-friendly, Carversville-inspired burlap bag for $4.95 shipping and handling.

If I do say so myself — the touches of turquoise are smile-worthy. We have places to sit in both shops so that our Building Character friends can explore to their hearts delight. Our retail customers wanting to make a gift of 2 coasters can purchase a smaller burlap bag for $1. Our larger burlap bag with GlamTribale label is available for jewelry purchases for $2.

Building Character is located at 342 N. Queen Street and is open daily with easy parking on Queen Street or in the back plaza. I’ll be there this week for First Friday festivities. ~ Anne

Building Character Lancaster, Pa Is New Home for GlamTribale Jewelry & Gifts

As of March 1, 2013 GlamTribale has a new home in Lancaster, one much better suited to our friends, clients and my personality. Lancaster’s Building Character artisan market at 342 N. Queen Street is open daily with easy parking on Queen Street or in the back plaza.

I will personally be there on First Fridays and perhaps also on Girls Night Out, which is the third Friday each month. As we do at Giant Steps Gallery in Philadelphia, we will be changing out both locations — yes, we have two spots at Building character — with new inventory each month. We will not carry the same collections in both locations at the same time. And we will create special products unique to each shop.  Read more details about GlamTribale’s new Lancaster home at Building Character. Visit Building Character on Facebook.

Below are some of our new blank inside gift cards with earrings — priced $25-$35 available at all GlamTribale locations and soon online. The cards are made of 100% bamboo or hemp paper and make a truly stunning gift.  ~ Anne

Carversville Coasters, 4/$25 Are The Perfect Country Gift

I never thought that when I wrote Smart Sensuality Angelina Jolie: Virtue Considered in Carversville’s Country Air, that I would be be looking at my own photography on GlamTribale’s first set of country coasters.

Carversville and Anne’s Life Journey

Life is so full of surprises. Indeed, the journey from Carversville and Manhattan to Philadelphia — and the world, really — was one not at all on my mind the day I wrote this first Anne of Carversville journal entry on this patio. Mine was a personal statement about virtues and civic values, along with my own role (or lack of it) in using my talents for others while supporting myself.

I made many changes after June 2007 including giving up my beloved country house and leaving New York for Philadelphia. True, the economic meltdown hardly did wonders for my consulting career. But other changes were bubbling inside me as well — you could label it a call to action.

Carversville Coasters, 4/$25

This set of four 4x4” Carversville coasters is decoupaged with my own photographs of the Carversville Inn and Carversville Country Store. The other two are scenes from Stover’s Mill Road and Fleecydale, running out of Carversville down to River Road. Fleecydale always reminds me of Chipping Campden in the Cotswold. (Read Chipping Campden, Carversville and an American Cry for Help)

These Carversville coasters are just one design in about 10 sets that we will be loading into the GlamTribale website this weekend. They arrive carefully packaged for shipping and also in our recycled tissue with eco-friendly burlap bad. Only the label fails the ‘green’ test and I’m working on that.

I’ve personally shipped these decoupage coasters on a round robin, multi-state tour. They returned to me in tip top condition. The stone coasters are imported from Turkey, have felt protectors, and are triple-sealed for moisture. Don’t put them in the dishwasher and just wipe clean.

This is a perfect country hostess gift, Bucks Country wedding present or self purchase. I will shortly share a second set of my photograph coasters shot in Bucks County but a reflection of country beauty everywhere in the world.

GlamTribale Gifts Adds Planters & Ceramic Coasters 4/$25

I had such a wonderful feeling yesterday, seeing a new use for my Carversville and Bucks County photographs. Our coasters have been so successful that I’m working on an expanded gift selection of planters and perhaps a tray.

Bucks County Coasters 4/$25

These items will also allow us to enter juried home and garden shows, starting with a wonderful spring show in Chestnut Hill.

Our coasters are $8 each and a set of 4/$25. The $25 set will be sold on the GlamTribale website and is delivered in our khaki burlap bag w/gold GlamTribale seal. What a perfect hostess gift or way to share beautiful, natural inspiration with a friend.

Trivets are a bit more complex because our current process of sealing the tiles doesn’t take the highest of temperatures above 200-degrees. A pot can come off the stove with a bottom that is this temperature and higher, leaving yours truly looking for a solution.

The planter came together smoothly, looking great for a first try. We bought 6” tiles that match our lightest color coasters. Using my high resolution images of the gorgeous Bucks County countryside, I created a set of coasters pictured above and then matched the visuals on four sides of the proposed planter. Burlap and bamboo, with a strong adhesive, hold the tiles together.  The planter isn’t priced yet.

I may be the rare person who shoots a cuff bracelet next to a flower pot. This ‘Gaia’ cuff bracelet ($250) is best suited for a large-boned woman like myself. It looks as if a flower garden is growing on my arm. Because ‘Gaia’ is the goddess of all of nature and our entire ecosystem, it seems fitting that her influence should touch a wide range of products at GlamTribale.

These new gifts join my ‘Gaia 1’ collage portfolio now on sale for $300 at Giant Steps Gallery in Philadelphia.

Our Freja Collection is on display until Valentine’s Day. Themis will be joined by Lilith in the near future. Giant Steps is located at 229 S 20th St; hours are 11-5, Tues-Sat. The jewelry is selling very well at Giant Steps and we’re brainstorming new collaborations for the future. Getting my first check was such a pleasure!!! ~ Anne

GlamTribale Shop at Hidden Treasures Market Lancaster, Pa

Anne of Carversville is jumping off into new spaces each day. I shared Tuesday that two of our collections each month are now in Giant Steps gallery in Rittenhouse Square Philadelphia.

GlamTribale at Hidden Treasures Market in Lancaster, PA.

I’m thrilled to announce that we are returning to Lancaster, Pa — the first place we showed GlamTribale jewelry this summer — as a founding member of Hidden Treasurers market. The space at 225 N. Prince St — located in the heart of the art gallery district — will formally open for first Friday on January 4, 2013.

Hours this weekend are at Hidden Treasures Art & Crafts Christmas Expo 2012:

Fri: 12/21 10am-9pm

Sat: 12/22 10am-5pm

Sun: 12/23 10am-4pm

A Lancaster plan is in motion for both GlamTribale and our lower price collection Tribale2. I’ve had such a warm reception in the community, with Hidden Treasures owner Steve Groff and manager Macajah Brown very commited to our expanding GlamTribale concept.

These images are the first of our permanent booth in Hidden Treasures, 225 N. Prince St. Lancaster, PA. After this weekend, we will return again for the grand opening celebration the weekend of January 4, 2013. Join us there to celebrate the new year in style with a special fashion show and many other artistic events.

Dan Eldon: Muse to GlamTribale

My life is in a very special place with so many events happening at once. People that I’ve touched very personally with the evolution of Anne of Carversville are very close to me today in unexpected ways.

No one has influenced the spirit and conscience of AOC more than Dan Eldon, the young photojournalist who was covering the famine and unrest in Somalia in 1993 and was killed when an enraged crowd turned against Dan and three other western journalists, killing him in a brutal attack.

Read the incredible story of how Dan Eldon and I have intersected now, in a new relationship with Dan’s mother Kathy Eldon and the Creative Visions foundation. GlamTribale Takes Muse Dan Eldon to Hidden Treasures Lancaster Market Opening. ~ Anne

Giant Steps Gallery First Permanent Home to GlamTribale Jewelry

GlamTribale jewelry is now available at Philadelphia’s Giant Steps Gallery in Rittenhouse Square. We will be featuring two collections each month, with some designs created exclusively for the gallery.

Freja and Themis are on display through the end of January. We will introduce a completely new assortment in advance of the monthly First Friday art opening. Giant Steps is located at 229 S 20th St; hours are 11-6:30, Tues-Sat.

Custom Writing, Memento Journals

Our gift collection is expanding in exciting ways. This journal will go to Giant Steps as part of the Themis Collection. Each $95 journal measures 9”x11.4” and is covered in handmade paper that is typically earth-friendly but not guaranteed.

Because the Themis collection is more rugged, serious and androgynous, I said “no party dresses”.After all, as an ancient Greek Titaness, Themis was in charge of the “communal affairs of humans, particularly assemblies.” Able to distinguish fact from fiction, there was little folling around with Themis.

Woolly Mammoth and Tektite Beads

A lot of thought goes into each journal. One of the defining beads in both our Themis and Freja collections are woolly mammoth beads. The woolly mammoth is the common name for the extinct elephant genus Mammuthus. It became extinct at the end of the Pleistocene age 10,000 years ago. Although these beads are expensive and difficult to obtain, they are important to the GlamTribale story because we are very fond of elephants and their matriarchal social organization.

The Themis collection also contains beads made from tektites, gravel-size bodies that are composed of black, green, brown or gray, natural glass that are formed from terrestrial debris ejected during extraterrestrial impacts. It’s believed that the woolly mammoth became extinct as a result of a meteor hitting the earth.

Because Themis is a more serious collection and androgynous, we chose to use a photo of a painting involving the woolly mammoth from an out of print book on the cover. Not only do guys buy our Themis jewelry, but this journal becomes a perfect gift for a man.

We will be adding these journals to our online store very soon. But Themis and Freja journals are headed for Giant Steps this weekend.

Tribale2 Jewelry & Gifts At Essene Market & Cafe Nov. 17

GlamTribale will introduce our new Tribale2 Collection in Philadelphia next Saturday, November 17 at Essene Market and Cafe.

Essene is Philadelphia’s premier natural foods store since 1969 and is located at 719 South Fourth Street, Philadelphia.

Tribale2 is a special collection of jewelry developed for street fairs and craft fairs where a less expensive price point is desireable. You will find us back at Essene Market and Cafe on December 15, 11-4.

Also coming to Essene are Tribale2 notecards — with and w/o pins to hold a pair of Tribale 2 earrings. The reception to our jewelry has been so positive that I’m expanding the collection into related items — at the suggestion of several curators of high-end shows.

Pictured below are our one of a kind GlamTribale notecards in development. The Tribale2 cards will follow the same theme but be a printed reproduction of the original collage.

This week we will announce our first GlamTribale outpost in Philadelphia, located in the Rittenhouse Square area. ~ Anne
