The Olympic trials for the U.S. gymnastics team concluded yesterday and we finally know which five team members will be heading to Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Games. Amid applause and a few tears, coach Martha Karolyi announced the all-star dream team late Sunday night, which is a mixture of previous champions and new contenders. Below, a guide to the five gymnasts who will be competing for the gold in August.

Serena Williams Wins Wimbledon, Tying Record for Grand Slam Singles New York Times

Serena Williams tied Steffi Graf’s Open-era record for Grand Slam singles titles, gaining her 22nd with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Angelique Kerber. Margaret Court holds the overall record for Grand Slam titles, with 24 from 1960 to 1973.

Williams had not won a major championship since last year’s Wimbledon, losing in the semifinals at the 2015 United States Open and the finals at the Australian and French Opens this year.

What will the store of the future look like? Business of Fashion

Today’s luxury consumers are constantly connected, time-poor and understand that the quickest, cheapest, most convenient way to shop is, increasingly, online. When it comes to fashion, they crave newness — new products, new images and new experiences at the speed of Facebook.

Sidney Toledano: 'Expect a New Dior' Business of Fashion

Chiuri joins Dior at a time when the luxury sector faces choppy waters. In the first quarter of 2016, ending March 31, Dior's fashion division logged a 1 percent drop in sales, hit by reduced terrorism in Paris and multiple major Asian markets. Dior generates around €5 billion in annual sales (around $5.53 billion), of which more than three-fifths comes from perfume and cosmetics. LVMH chairman and chief executive Bernard Arnault he expects a similar result in 2016.

Toledano says he knew at once that Maria Grazia Chiuri was perfect for Dior.

“To dress a woman is more important than ever today. The evolution of women is a special evolution and her vision and how she wants to transform it is really interesting,” Toledano said. "Because she’s a woman and she has a different perspective on what she is going to do and it played an important part. I was looking for somebody that was deeply understanding the needs of a woman of today and tomorrow globally."

It's official: Maria Grazia Chiuri Is in at Christian Dior by Sarah Mower Vogue.com

Christian Dior has lured Maria Grazia Chiuri away from Valentino. After many weeks of rumors, and the headlines yesterday that she had exited her role as co–creative director at the Italian house, the news became official today. I, for one, am pleased: They’ve managed to hire a very cool woman. I’ve spent quite a lot of time with Maria Grazia on Vogue missions since she stepped up with her design partner Pierpaolo Piccioli as co–creative director in 2007, and I can say she’s come to be one of the women designers I like and respect most. She’s an accomplished, extremely experienced professional, a mother, and a principled feminist who has all her ideas about life, work, family, and fashion cut down to the right size. She knows how a couture house works inside out (as Raf Simons did not) and how to run an internationally important women’s ready-to-wear and accessories brand.
Most of all, I like the quote Maria Grazia gave me about how she and Piccioli first came up with the romantic, renaissance, virginal mood which has turned around the fortunes of Valentino. More than a fairy-like fantasy, it also had a double-edged significance, she said. “It was the Berlusconi moment in Italy!” she declared. “It was terrible. I really felt we were strongly reacting against that picture of women.” She’s someone who deeply mulls over the meaning of fashion from a woman’s point of view. To really start inhabiting our lives and minds, design needs to be about something more than churning out a house style or rearranging its signatures in an abstract way. Christian Dior is a house in need of that.

Valentino Confirms Chiuri Departure Vogue UK

Valentino has confirmed that its co-creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri has resigned, ending her 17-year, creative relationship with Pierpaolo Piccioli.

Chiuri will become the first female Artistic Director of Christian Dior, replacing Raf Simons, who resigned in October 2015. Presently Chiuri lives in Rome with her husband and two children.

The designer is a hip chick who discovered a street artist Solo and has commissioned massive Wonder Woman murals to celebrate the Valentino brand. The fifth mural opened in New York this spring.  W interviewed Solo as he completed his New York offering to strong women:

How did you interpret her character for the mural?
We tried to make a portrait of the modern woman. I grew up with my mom, who was a super strong figure and multi-tasker. She worked, took care of me and my brother, took care of the home, and is also a beautiful woman. I would come home from school one day and she would be working with a screwdriver, and then another she was all dressed up to go out with her friends. For me, Wonder Woman is 360-degrees. She’s the full picture. When I spoke with [creative directors] Maria Grazia and Pierpaolo [Piccioli] about this project, we wanted to do a portrait of a beautiful, independent woman. In the mural, she has lipstick in one hand to represent beauty, a baby bottle in another to represent family, another with a laptop, then a wrench and a shopping bag. We tried to represent a woman in her everyday, who is able to do anything.

Daddies, 'Dates,' and the Girlfriend Experience: Welcome to the Prostitution Economy Vanity Fair US

If increasing numbers of young people are selling their bodies online for countless reasons -- student debt, luxury labels, top-tier museum memberships -- is this an example of American, entrepreneurial skills at their best or exploitation?

Geraldine’s, a swank spot in the Hotel Van Zandt in Austin, Texas is a top hangout spot for tech guys. Vanity Fair grabs a table and talks turkey over ribs about “dates” with “daddies.” As an appetizer: “They want the girlfriend experience, without having to deal with an actual girlfriend.”

“The girlfriend experience” is the term women in the sex trade use for a service involving more than just sex. “They want the perfect girlfriend—in their eyes,” says Miranda, the young woman at our table.* “She’s well groomed, cultured, classy, able to converse about anything—but not bringing into it any of her real-world problems or feelings.”

Can better access to water aid women's rights in Africa? Christian Science Monitor

A new international study of 24 sub-Saharan African countries confirms the dangerous reality that the work of collecting water is disproportionately done by women.

A container of water typically weighs between 40 and 55 pounds. Burdened by the weight, females are also exposed to dangerous risks of sexual assault in hauling water over long distances.

Water collection keeps girls out of school and women away from gainful employment to increase personal and national economic productivity.

Theresa May Likely to Be Britain's Next Premier as Andrea Leadsom Quits Race New York Times

Andrea Leadsom's metaphorical slap at Theresa May's ability to lead as Britain's new prime minister, given her not having blood children, backfired in England. The party turned turned on Leadsom in a heartbeat. On July 5, the NYT described May:

"Ms. May, 59, is the country’s longest-serving home secretary in half a century, with a reputation for seriousness, hard work and avoiding the intrigue and treachery that has gripped her party. She is one of a growing number of women in traditionally male-dominated British politics rising to the upper echelon of leadership."
