RedTracker| Teenage Dutch sailor Laura Dekker had a good Saturday night on Guppy, writing that she was about 270 nautical miles from her next port of call, the Cape Verde islands, off west Africa. The 15-year-old muse to our young women readers (and guys, too) left Spain’s Canary Islands on Wednesday.
At the beginning of the weekend, Dekker had good winds of 7.6 knots. Yesterday she wrote that there was little to see, no ships and no dolphins.
Laura was only sleeping about an hour at a time, apparently woken up by the alarm function of the radar system. Read our extensive writing about Laura Dekker’s journey to obtaining release from Dutch social services custody and setting off on her dream of sailing around the world.
