Wyclef Jean Barred from Haiti's Presidential Election

GivingTracker| Wyclef Jean has been barred from running for president of Haiti. No reason was given why Mr. Jean and 14 others were rejected as presidential candidates. It’s very possible that Wyclef Jean was rejected because he hasn’t met the requirement of having lived in Haiti for five consecutive years before the Nov. 28 elections. Jean left Haiti as a child and has lived in New Jersey ever since, although he has travelled frequently to Haiti as a professional musician. via NYTimes
