Women Are 24% of State Legislators

RedTracker| Women were 54 percent of voters in the 2008 electons but only 24 percent of state legislators, according to a report from the Center for American Women and Politics, a unit of the Eagle ton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University.

Highlights of the study include the fact that women must be encourged to run for office. Women, moreso than men, want to be recruited to run for political office, rather than make the decision on their own. Read on New Jersey Real-Time.
