Apple CEO Steve Jobs surprised the pundits with iPad price points that vary between $499 and $829.
Apple will sell some models with data plans from AT&T that cost $30 a month for unlimited data and no contract. New Yorkers already suffering from lack of bandwidth in AT&T iPhone New York region groaned.
iPads will run most applications designed for the iPhone and come with the iTunes store. In another surprise that may hit Amazon’s Kindle, Jobs announced a new iBooks store, which will sell works from major book publishers for as little as $4.99.
