Whale DNA In 'The Hump' Sting Linked To Japan's Scientific Whaling Program

GreenBeings| The international pressure on Japan’s illegal whaling activities just got another boost as documentary filmmakers and environmental activists have linked whales killed in Japan’s controversial scientific whaling program to sushi restaurants in Seoul, South Korea and Los Angeles, Calif.

The DNA sequences in previously reported sashimi served at a prominent LA restaurant — since closed — confirmed that the strips of raw meat purchased by filmmakers of the Oscar-winning documentary, “The Cove,” came from a sei whale — most likely from Japanese “scientific whaling.”
