US Internet Ad Revenues Climb 17% in Third Quarter 2010

HopeTracker| Third quarter 2010 US internet advertising revenues hit a record $6.4 billion, a 17 percent increase over the same quarter in 2009, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PricewaterhouseCoopers. The significant increase suggests that online ad revenues may be resuming a steady upward progression once again.

Wired reports that Morgan Stanley internet analyst May Meeker projected a much high online revenue stream at Tuesday’s Web 2.0 conference in San Francisco, where she argued that marketers should spend much more money online. Meeker sees a $50 billion online advertising revenue stream, with mobile commerce gaining market share than traditional online retailing.
