Unlike Most Humans, Apes Know They Can Be Wrong
GreenTracker| Unlike most humans, great apes, orangutans, chimpanzees, bonobos and gorillas — realize that they can be wrong when making choices, according to Dr. Josep Call from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany.
The results of the research can be read two ways: 1) in displaying behavior traits that indicate a lack of assurance about what food is in what tube — once the visual stimulus is removed — the great apes underscore their lack of intelligence and inferiority to humans, who typically are assured of their actions.
Unlike apes, humans don’t need to conduct any further scientific inquiry before choosing the right food tube because … well because we have higher powers.
2) Then again, perhaps the apes can teach humans a thing or two about the perils of thinking that we know everything, without further scientific investigation. Read on Great apes know they could be wrong, research suggests via Science Daily.
