Trio Delays Intro Of Climate Bill Over Immigration Reform

HopeTracker| Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), one of the climate bill’s three authorshas announced that he will not support it, if the Obama Administration proceeds with immigration reform, as it announced on Friday.

“I want to bring to your attention what appears to be a decision by the Obama administration and Senate Democratic leadership to move immigration instead of energy,” Graham said in a letter released Saturday. “Unless their plan substantially changes this weekend, I will be unable to move forward on energy independence legislation at this time. I will not allow our hard work to be rolled out in a manner that has no chance of success.”

Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) announced that the trio of Kerry, Graham and Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) would not announce on Monday their planned climate change legislation as planned.

Graham called Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid on Friday, warn him that if the leadership pushed immigration, he would walk away from negotiations over the climate bill, as he did Saturday. via Politico
