The Increasing Importance of Sensuality in Our Lives
RoseTracker| Anne updates her original essay For the Birds and the Bees | The Importance of Sensuality in our Lives.
Writing about enjoying responsible pleasures in every gesture from smelling the flowers to dining by candlelight, Anne talks about the morality of sensuality in two aspects: from the environmentalists who believe that most pleasures should be denied because they can harm the planet, and more importantly, from the viewpoint of monetheistic religion which has defined ‘sensuality’ in terms of disgust and immorality. Webster’s Dictionary follows suit, giving the word ‘sensuality’ a really bad rap.
