An anti-biotic drug called rapamycin, already on the market as a drug suppressing the immune system and treating certain cancers is reported to have a remarkable effect of extending age in mice.

According to the NYTimes, it will be 10 years before matters are sorted out. “It’s no longer irresponsible to say that following these up could lead to medicines that increase human life span by 10, 20 or 30 percent.”
