Terry Jones, Randall Terry, Mike Huckabee At Work for God & Christianity

HopeTracker| Hated by many, a man with a few followers who is ‘basically broke’ writes the NYTimes, Gainesville ‘pastor’ of Dove World Outreach Center Terry Jones says he is ‘saddened’ and ‘moved’ by the deaths of innocent people in Afghanistan, but he would burn the Quran all over again.

Mr. Jones, 59, with his white walrus moustache, craggy face and basso profundo voice, seems like a man from a different time. Sitting at his desk in his mostly unadorned office, he keeps a Bible in a worn brown leather cover by his side and a “Braveheart” poster within sight. Both, he said, provide spiritual sustenance for the mission at hand: Spreading the word that Islam and the Koran are instruments of “violence, death and terrorism.”

Al Jazeera English published President Obama’s condemnation of the killing:

“The desecration of any holy text, including the Quran, is an act of extreme intolerance and bigotry,” Obama said in a statement on Saturday.

“However, to attack and kill innocent people in response is outrageous, and an affront to human decency and dignity.”

Terry Jones burned the Quran in front of about 50 people on March 20.  In this March 3 video, he stands with Operation Rescue leader Randall Terry (anti-abortion rights) on March 3 in Washington at a small anti-sharia law in America protest.

Jones is asked if he will really burn the Quran and another man says ‘that’s what the people voted for’. WHOA!!! If I am not mistaken, there are no women milling around this mini event.

It was a woman named Joy Revels, a Gainsville, Fla resident who last fall refused to print T-shirts for Jones saying “Islam is of the devil”. Instead she printed her own shirts with the message ‘Love, not Dove’, referring to the name of Terry Jones’ ministry.

In our earlier articles, I have consistently expressed my defiant frustration over the divisive role of religion in escalating global tensions. A small group of men like Terry Jones and Randall Terry launch moral crusades in the name of Christianity in which they say openly that all violence is justified in the name of God.

From Randall Terry’s website, he refers to the burning of ‘pagan’ worship places — many of them strongly tied to a reverence for women as a co-diety with men.  We know that before the arrival of monotheism, women were worshipped widely in what is now called paganism.

St. Paul the Apostle oversaw the burning of “sacred” books on witchcraft (see Acts 19:19); and of course, the lake of fire is the final place of torment for all who reject the Lord and his Christ (see Rev. 21:8).

In the Christian era, the “sacred” places of pagan Greek and Roman deities were desecrated; many of their idols were defaced and burned. Delphi and the Roman Forum — the respective centers of pagan Greco/Roman deities — both lie in ruins; the stones of their “sacred” temples were taken away to build Catholic churches, including St. Peter’s Cathedral…

It is my personal belief that we are entering returning to a McCarthy-style vision of America. Presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee suggests that Americans be forced — at gunpoint if necessary — to listen to David Barton talk about God.

Barton insists that America was founded as a strictly Christian nation and not with a belief in religious tolerance or separation of church and state. Huckabee made these statements “Rediscover God In America” conference. Note that his comments have been edited out of the official footage (so much for freedom of the press) but not before People for the American Way’s Kyle Mantyla captured the footage.

This growing movement that returns us to a McCarthey era mentality is shocking and must be taken seriously by all Americans. Anne
