Shortage of Men on Campus 'Victimizes' American Women

RedTracker| One of the ‘prices’ for women’s success is the gender imbalance on many American college and university campuses. Women have represented about 57 percent of enrollments at American colleges since at least 2000, according to a recent report by the American Council on Education.

Guys play the field, not wanting to settle down in college, especially when they are in demand as dates and boyfriends. Young women say this reality ‘forces’ them to play in the hookup culture, because they have no choice.

‘Women on gender-imbalanced campuses are paying a social price for success and, to a degree, are being victimized by men precisely because they have outperformed them.’ says W.
