Sarkozy Proposes Carbon-Emitting Tax

GlobeTracker| Not nice, Economist! The question is posed: “What is small, French and green?” Answer: President Nicholas Sarkozy, who proposed on Thursday September 10th, a tax on carbon-emitting sources of fuel.

Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway already have a carbon tax, but if the proposed levy of 17 euros per ton is levied, France will be the largest economy to adopt the tax.
