Red Light Increases Perceived Value & Sweetess of Wine

DolceTracker| A 2009 study of 500 wine drinkers explored how restaurant lighting influences our perception of vino. The test wine was perceived as being 1.5 times sweeter in red light, than white or green. Fruitiness was also rated the highest in red light. It was rated highest in red or blue light. Wine drinkers were also willing to pay more for their Reisling wine in red light versus green.

The rsearch was conducted at Institute of Psychology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. We wonder if people drink more wine in red light. via Science Daily
