Public Health Care Option Not Iced as Reported

HopeTracker| Democratic politicos wren’t happy yesterday with Politico story that Speaker Nancy Pelosi was ready to accept a trigger compromise, and that a fully-developed public health insurance option was all but dead and buried. Most of the reporting the rest of the day and into the evening confirmed the argument that the public option is very much alive.

Polosi is known to prefer a public option and lobbied her colleagues the rest of Friday on the objective.

Over in the Senate, Harry Reid tells Pelosi that he is close to haveing 60 votes for a plan whereby states have an op-out option.
