GreenTracker| Most of Earth is covered by oceans that are under assault from environmental changes, including people’s garbage. Yet scientists know more about distant planets than our oceans. Change is coming.
In an exciting development NASA, US Navy and university researchers have developed the first robotic underwater vehicle, one powered entirely by natural, renewable, ocean thermal energy. Our oceans will soon be under surveillance by autonomous underwater vehicles ‘capable of virtually indefinite ocean monitoring for climate and marine animal studies, exploration and surveillance’. via Science Daily
