Mumbai Facing Devastating Water Shortage

GlobeTracker| The BBC reports that Mumbai has reduced water supplies by 30% in the face of one of the worst water shortages in its history. For the 20 million inhabitants of Mumbai, this is the worst shortage of their lives.

“We get water at about 4.45 am and it’s gone before 5.45 am. Earlier we used to get water for more than two hours,” (Jayshree Ranade) told the BBC.

This is the extent of the water supply for an entire day in Mumbai.

The authorities now say they are also considering seeding clouds to generate artificial rainfall. The situation in Mumbai is critical.
