Menopausal Hormone Creams Can Affect Pets and Humans

RoseTracker| Monopausal women using hormone creams must take better precautions in exposing pets, children and other family and friends to the creams. Simply stated, writes the New York Times, pets are going hormonal, showing major symptoms of sexual maturity like swollen genitals. 

Use of topical estrogen, in the form of creams, sprays and gels, has surged since a major government study linked oral menopause drugs with a higher risk of heart attacks and cancer.

The same medical care providers aren’t treating both parties, and it’s only recently that the linkage has been established between women using the creams and kids or pets being treated by vets and pediatricians. Read on at NYT.
