Jane Velez-Mitchell Sets Record Headlines for CNN

Jane Velez-Mitchell is the host of “Issues” on Headline News.The NYTimes reports that Jane Velez-Mitchell’s new evening show “Issues” is setting record ratings for Headline News, sister station of CNN.

Valez-Mitchell reports that she herself is a woman with a lot of issues: true-crime author, a television talking head, lesbian, animal activist, recovering alcoholic and a vegan.

Ken Jautz, executive vice president of CNN Worldwide, says that Ms. Velez-Mitchell also has the three P’s: passion, personality and a point of view.

Now in long-term negotiations with CNN, Jane Velez-Mitchell says there’s no going back to local news, once you do views. “Which is O.K.: life’s an adventure, and you keep moving forward.”

Glowing Red, Velez-Mitchell now lives in Manhattan with her mother and walks to work every day. Her new HLN assignment allows her to marry her principles with her stance as anchorwoman, especially in a recurring segment called “War on Women”. A
