RedTracker| Scientists have developed how to make human blood from adult human skin. Clinical trials could begin as soon as 2012. Researchers are convinced that the new process, which involves reprogramming human skin cells into pluripotent cells that have the potential to become all cell types, works on a wide range of human skin from both young and old people.
The breakthrough will have many positive medical applications and will save lives for patients waiting for bone marrow transplants but unable to find a perfect donor match. via Science Daily
