Fresh Garlic Better for Cardio Health

Science Daily reports what scientists call the first scientific evidence that freshly crushed garlic has more potent heart-healthy effects than dried garlic.

Processed and cooked garlic were less effective than fresh garlic in generating hydrogen sulfide, a chemical reaction that relaxes blood vessels, allowing more blood to pass through. All forms of garlic reduced damage from lack of oxygen in simulated heart attacks. But only the fresh garlic group had significantly greater effect on restoring good blood flow in the aorta and increased pressure in the left ventricle of the heart.

Blood flow is also critical for optimal sexual health.
