Goetzel, MD at UCSF and the National Institute on Aging, have made a stunning discovery concerning an existing drug lenalidomide that increased cellular production of a key cytokine IL-2 by 120-fold in people over 65. The decline of positive cytokines is a key factor in inflammation of aging bodies.

A much larger trial is planned in 2011 with hopes of moving quickly on the possibility of taking a very low, daily dose of lenalidomide for healthy aging. Read details in AOC Health.
