Foreign Policy | Drone Attacks Are Bad News & Offer Up No Military Intelligence

Love | Peace Marc A. Thiessen argues in today’s Foreign Policy that President Obama’s Predator drone strategy is killing too many terrorists who should be brought in for interrogation. The result, says Thiessen is a loss of valuable intelligence, citing the US recent strike on Qasim al-Raymi, a senior military leader of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, as an example of a man worth more alive than dead.

The ‘collateral damage’ fallout, related to the deaths of innocent women and children — and men, too, at times — doesn’t jibe with American ideals, says Thiessen. America loses its moral high ground, to say nothing of hearts hardened against Americans. Read on Dead Terrorists Tell No Tales via Foreign Policy.
