Five Isolated Cholera Cases Confirmed In Port-au-Prince

GlobeTracker| Five cases of cholera have been treated in Port-au-Prince Hati, but officials say all five came from the Artibonite region of central Haiti, where the contaminated river is believed to be the source.

A U.N. humanitarian spokeswoman told Reuters news agency the Port-au-Prince cholera patients were “very quickly diagnosed and isolated.” There is tremendous concern that cholera will spread into the camps where estimated of hundreds of thousands to 1.5 million people live.

Currently, Haiti confirms 208 dead (50 of them prison inmates) and 2,600 people sickened with the disease. via VOA
