Ms Nural Anwar campaigned in a field of 17 for the post, winning on her own merits says the NYTimes, although she is a daughter of Malaysia’s opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.

Mother of two children, with a master’s degree in international relations at the John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington and a husband working for Accenture, the management consulting firm, Nurul Izzah Anwar is poised to accend to political power as an opposition leader. via NYTimes
