Female Lawyers To Represent Women in Saudi Arabia
Beyond the Veil| Women in Saudi Arabia to be given a restrictive license to practice law.
The local Arabic daily Al Madina reports that women may represent female clients only as a way of guaranteeing the pull protection of women’s rights in Saudi Arabia. Authorities fear that Muslim women don’t feel comfortable sharing all the details of an alleged crime with a male lawyer.
If passed by authorities, women will have their own section within the courts and female lawyers will also be restricted to these spaces.
